Our Spring Break trip in 2006 took us to Washington, DC. We did the standard tourist stuff (tour of White House, monuments, Treasury, museums, etc.) and then we got tired of the city we rented a car and drove out to Mt. Vernon. We rented an apartment in the Georgetown area through VRBO – it was a great place and we could easily get around by a taking a quick bus ride to the metro station.
