Yellowstone (2003)

In May (2003), Charles was pondering what to do over the 4th of July weekend.  As Martin was educating Charles in the finer points of pool, he suggested that the Bybee Boys should head to Yellowstone Park and then on to Montana where Martin and his family would be spending the 4th.  Being smart enough to see a great idea when it was served up, the Bybee boys began to plan their next adventure.

Over the 4th of July weekend (2003), Charles, Travis, Cameron and Grant loaded up the jeep and headed for Yellowstone Park.   While at the park, we checked out the geysers and other thermal features (beware . . . that place could blow at any moment) and generally had a good time.  After leaving the park, we headed to Chico Springs for a little rest and relaxation at the hot springs and then on to Billings were we joined Martin, Bill and others for fireworks and some fun on the Yellowstone River with Martin, Molly and Bill..

Our first stop (other gas, food and bathroom breaks, was Lake Jackson and then from there, on to the park.   No trip to Yellowstone would be complete with out a stop by Old Faithful and true to form, it errupted at intervals of approximately
90 minutes.  In addition to Old Faithful we saw lots of other geyers and thermal features, but perhaps our favorite part of the park was the bubbling mudpots.
